Cup of Berlin 2005
International Synchronized Skating Competition
January 20th-22nd in Berlin
A few exciting days have gone much too quickly! It has
been fantastic to have twenty teams from ten different nations in our
CUP of BERLIN 2005 and we have seen some outstanding performances.
For the first time we experienced the special flair of an
international synchronized Competition and it has brought many new fans
for the fast growing branch of figure skating.
Thanks to all teams for joining us in Berlin.
And thanks to all who made this competition possible.

Allgemeine Information
Vom 20. bis 22. Januar fand in Berlin der „Cup of
Berlin“ statt, der erste deutsche ISU-Wettbewerb im
Synchron-Eiskunstlaufen. Zu den Wettkämpfen in der Senioren- und
Juniorenklasse sind im Erika Heß-Eisstadion rund 450 Sportler aus
Deutschland, Kanada, Kroatien, Finnland, Italien, Polen, Russland, der
Schweiz, Schweden und den USA angereist. Darunter einige Teams der
Weltspitze.
Synchroneiskunstlauf ist der jüngste Spross des Eiskunstlauf, der sich
seit seiner ersten offiziellen WM im Jahr 2000 in Minneapolis
leistungsmäßig rasant entwickelt und immer mehr Zuschauer anzieht. Die
erste – noch inoffizielle - WM fand 1995 in Dearborn, Michigan statt.
Inzwischen ist Synchroneiskunstlaufen immer mehr zu einer eigenständigen
Disziplin des Eiskunstlaufs geworden, die bei wachsender Kreativität und
zunehmend größeren Schwierigkeiten in Hebungen und Sprüngen ihr eigenes
Ausdrucks- und Anforderungsprofil entwickelte und ständig weiter
entwickelt.
